##### Electrical Sliding Plug Door Mechanism

**Customer benefits**

The ESP4C Electrical Sliding Plug Compact Door Mechanism is a high-performance solution designed for modern rail vehicles, offering exceptional reliability and versatility. With over 20,000 belt-driven systems in service worldwide, it has proven its durability across various applications. A single actuator powers both leaves of a double door while also managing the locking function, simplifying the system architecture and enhancing operational efficiency. Its standardised design ensures that 73% of parts are shared between single and double door configurations, streamlining maintenance and reducing inventory complexity.

One of the standout features of the ESP4C is its lightweight construction. The operator is 30% lighter and more compact than comparable products on the market, saving up to 20 kg per door system. This weight reduction contributes to improved energy efficiency and easier installation. Technically, the ESP4C accommodates a wide range of door sizes: single leaf doors from 650 to 1400 mm and double leaf doors from 1200 to 1800 mm, with plug movement of 70 mm. It offers flexible vertical coordination options, either through vertical bars or lower swing arms. The mechanism, including the hanger device, weighs 46 kg for a 1300 mm double door and withstands pressure waves up to 2500 Pa. Noise emissions are kept below 75 dB on average, with peak levels not exceeding 80 dB, making it a quiet and robust choice for modern rail systems.

**Customer benefits**

The high load swing arm system is a lighter and more compact alternative to vertical bars for sliding plug doors. The high-load swing arms are up to 15kg lighter per door system than vertical bars. Their compact design frees up interior space, allowing for increased passenger capacity and easier integration into modern train layouts. No side covers are needed, and installation is simplified thanks to fewer connections with upper door components.

It has proven its reliability in real-world conditions, with over 20,000 doors in service for more than 20 years (ET series). It is designed to handle small structural shifts during operation without affecting door movement - even if one of the guiding arms is disengaged, the door continues to function normally. The system has successfully passed endurance tests of 2 million cycles and pressure resistance up to 2500 Pa plus additional force, showing strong durability and resistance to wear and vandalism.

##### One DCU for door and step control,
enabling CRA compliance and digital resilience

**Customer benefits**

The Door and Step Control Units support up to three motors and are designed for easy integration. They enable condition-based maintenance through frequent data sampling and continuous monitoring. Key features include Ethernet connectivity, a web interface, and flexible port configurations. Their architecture supports safety level segregation without extra project assessments. Built on a validated software platform with SL2, they require no additional safety development. Optional functions include speaker output, safety relay, and sensitive edge input for antidrag mechanisms.

Our Digital Control Units are at the core of our products’ compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act. It ensures the product is secure by design and default. The DCU manages secure configurations, controls access, and protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and essential functions. It enables timely security updates, monitors internal activity, and supports responsible data handling by processing only what is necessary. Designed to reduce attack surfaces and mitigate incident impact, the DCU also empowers users to permanently and securely erase data and settings.

### Asymmetrical Antidrag

##### Smart Passenger Safety

**Customer benefits**

The asymmetrical antidrag mechanism is designed to detect when a passenger is being pulled from outside the train. This targeted detection helps prevent serious accidents by ensuring the doors only reopen in response to external drag forces, not internal movement or interference. As a result, the system reduces false activations and improves overall train availability. Its reduced sensitivity to internal tampering or vandalism also enhances operational reliability, particularly when doors are closed and locked.

The system is compatible with both pure sliding and sliding plug door configurations and can be integrated into existing train setups with minimal installation effort. Its design supports smoother door operation and helps eliminate incorrect detections that could delay train departures. By focusing on accurate risk identification and adaptability, the system contributes to improved passenger safety and more consistent train performance.

##### High-level of standardisation for
best-in-class reliability

**Customer benefits**

This fully integrated access system combines door and step control into a single unit, driven by one Door Control Unit (DCU), simplifying installation and reducing system complexity. Its compact design supports easy integration into various vehicle types, including configurations adapted for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM). The system meets stringent international standards such as PRM TSI and EN 14752, and is compliant with ADA requirements. With over 10,000 units in service worldwide, it demonstrates high reliability and a proven track record in diverse operating environments.

The system features electric motorization with an irreversible drive, ensuring self-locking in any position without power. Available in cassette or floor-integrated mounting options, it includes lockout and manual modes for operational flexibility. Typical specifications for a 1,300 mm door include a thickness of 57 mm, weight of 65 kg, stroke range of 150–500 mm, and opening/closing time of 2.5 seconds for a 300 mm stroke. A “touchless” version is also available, using ultrasonic sensors to reduce the required stroke and eliminate contact with the platform, improving safety and minimizing space requirements.
