Linings for Elevators
Our elevator friction inserts D670 & brand new D675 enable our customers to operate their elevator systems more efficiently by increasing the payload due to higher friction coefficients. Basically, the payload decreases as the elevator height increases. This happens due to the increasing mass, e.g., For this reason, standard elevator systems above a certain lifting height are designed, that the traction ropes are wrapped multiple times around the drive sheave. This increases the coefficient of friction between steel rope and the and steel drive wheel.
The major disadvantage of this is, that the rope itself is destroyed, drastically reducing its service life due to bending stress cycles.
Due to the much higher coefficient of friction of our elevator friction inserts, this multiple wrapping of the rope is not needed. A simple 180° wrap is sufficient to operate the elevator. The rope has a much longer service life.
The maintenance interval increases, thereby reducing operating costs for the customer.
