### Type 10

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### Type 10

##### Automatic coupler type 10

The automatic coupler head type 10 is designed for regional and intercity, high-speed trains and railcars. It is compliant with the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) for the European rail system. This automatic coupler system is part of Dellner’s modular design concept, which is characterised by excellent spare parts availability and very low maintenance costs.

**Customer benefits**

The automatic coupler type 10 is supplied with a pivot anchor as a deformation unit for crash absorption. The train coupler can be fully integrated with Dellner’s Crash Energy Management system. It comes as a top mounted electrical coupler including D-REX ethernet connection and pneumatic connections for main air and break air systems.

Product details

TSI compliant type 10 mechanical coupler
Centre section with gas-hydraulic damper
Pivot anchor for enhanced crash energy absorption
Total energy absorption: 1.6 MJ
Top mounted electrical coupler including D-REX (100 Mbit Ethernet connection)
Pneumatic connections for main air and break air
Buff/Draft strength: 1500/1000 kN (regional and inter-city applications)

### Type 12

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### Type 12

##### Automatic coupler type 12

The type 12 automatic coupler head is designed for regional, intercity, and high-speed trains as well as metros. The coupler head type 12 is part of Dellner\`s modular design concept. It comes with a pivot anchor with an integrated release function, allowing the coupler to shear off in the event of a collision.

**Customer benefits**

Product details

Centre section with gas hydraulic damper
Pivot anchor with internal release function
Side guide horn for enhanced gathering range
Bottom mounted electrical coupler including D-REX (100 Mbit Ethernet connection)
Pneumatic connections for main air and uncoupling air
Buff/Draft strength: 1500/850 kN

### Type H coupler

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### Type H coupler

##### Tight lock type H coupler

The tight-lock Type H coupler, like the Knuckle coupler, is based on the design of the Janney coupler. This type of coupler is particularly common in the USA.

**Customer benefits**

The Dellner tight lock type H is available for regional, intercity, high-speed trains and railcars. It complies with the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) PR-CS-RP-019-12 Rail Transit Standard. The coupler features an anti-rotation joint, and its design ensures that, in the event of a collision, the end frames are brought together in a way that minimizes vertical and lateral movement between the coupled vehicles and the impacting vehicles.

The tight-lock Type H coupler is rigorously tested under both static and dynamic conditions and is equipped with a mechanical Knuckle coupler head. It features a rubber draft gear for regenerative energy absorption, while non-regenerative energy absorption is controlled by a deformation tube. The force and stroke characteristics of the deformation tube can be adjusted to meet the crash energy management requirements of the vehicle manufacturer.

Product details

For regional, intercity, high-speed trains and railcars
Mechanical coupler: AAR Knuckle type
Capacity: buff and draft (3650 kN / 2000 kN)
Anti-rotation (203 kN-m)
Spherical rubber bearing pivot
Shear indicator
Simple mounting with four bolts

### BSI

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### BSI

##### Automatic coupler BSI

The name of the BSI automatic coupler dates back to the German company “Bergische Stahl-Industrie” (BSI). The BSI coupler head was originally developed for light rail vehicles for automatically coupling and uncoupling wagons but is now also used in a larger number of passenger trains.

**Customer benefits**

Dellner’s BSI automatic coupler is designed for regional and intercity trains, metros, light rail vehicles and trams. It is part of Dellner’s modular design concept and features a rotating anchor as a deformation unit for crash absorption. The BSI coupler can be offered for all applications with Dellner’s patented safety locking device.

Product details

Centre section with gas-hydraulic damper
Pivot anchor for enhanced deformation absorption
Total energy absorption: 1 MJ
Pneumatic connections for main air
Impact/tensile strength 1000/600 kN

### Type SA3

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### Type SA3

##### Automatic coupler type SA3

The SA3 semi-automatic coupler head for regional and intercity trains is designed in accordance with the Eastern European coupler standard. The coupler head is part of Dellner’s modular design concept, offering excellent spare-parts availability and very low maintenance costs.

The coupler type SA3 comes with a pivot anchor as a deformation unit for crash absorption.

**Customer benefits**

### Type Tomlinson

###### FRONT COUPLERS

##### Type Tomlinson

##### Automatic coupler type Tomlinson

The Tomlinson automatic coupler head consists of two square metal hooks that interlock when coupled. At Dellner, the Tomlinson automatic coupler is available for regional and intercity trains, metros, light rail and trams.

**Customer benefits**

The Thomson coupler is part of Dellner’s modular design concept, providing improved spare-parts availability and lower maintenance costs for train operators, as well as shorter delivery times for train builders. It features a horizontally mounted pivot anchor, allowing for better integration into the car body.

Product details

Centre section with integrated shear-off in regenerative buffer
Horizontally mounted pivot anchor for enhanced interface integration
Pneumatic connections for main air and break air
